Brand Power: Lamborghini to sell swimwear in O.C.

Lamborghini swimwear?

That's right. In a few months, the luxury sports car maker will for the first time sell men's and women's swimwear in its U.S. dealerships, including its lone O.C. location in Santa Ana.

The Italian-made bikini and sarong set, pictured right, with the Lamborghini logo on them, goes for $148.

Automobili Lamborghini ArtiMarca, which today includes clothing and accessories, was launched in Italy in 1999. Later, Lamborghini started selling items, including T-shirts, sweatshirts and hats, in its U.S. dealerships. But the big marketing push to let people know about its clothing line didn't began until fall 2007.

"It is extremely important for us as a brand to expand to our North American consumer base as this is our most important market,"? said Dominik Hoberg via e-mail. He's the president of the Automobili Lamborghini ArtiMarca Collection.

The ArtiMarca collection consists of more than 100 items "tailored not only to Lamborghini buyers, but also to the luxury consumer who values style and elegance,"? he said.

This could not work well with a descriptive brand however works very well with a distinctive one.

Domainer Developer: Parking vs. Developing Debate Continues

Domain development is more than a simple addition to domaining. We're not talking about a little bonus song on the domaining sound track. Web development is an extremely significant phase of epic proportion in the evolution of a domain name, and whether you believe it or not, it's getting easier and easier to implement every day. Although people keep claiming that development is getting harder and requires more effort and time.. and they go on and on with excuses.. I'm just not buying it. Because of the explosion in broadband and social networking and blogs, I've learned so much more about development in the past 2 years than I ever could have been able to pick up this quickly in the ten years prior. Put simply, web development is becoming much more efficient and really, really easy for the most novice of persons to pick up. We have moved into an open web.

Not only should the ease at which it is to set up blogs be immediate encouragement to those seeking methods of development, but it should be seen as a serious way to quickly and consistently fill a site with meaningful content. It's a sign of the times to come.
