Bido: And Yet More Bad News (Although Some Would Call It Good News..)

buy-it-now.gif

So far we’ve told you the sales commission is going up from 8% to 10%, and we’ve told you that the number of votes required in order to send a submission to auction is going up as well. What else could be bad news you ask? Lately, I wrote a couple of posts ( 1 ,2 ) about how a “Buy It Now” option is killing auction houses. So if we didn’t announce enough bad news yet, now it would seem I’m totally contradicting my earlier statements when I tell you the new release will also include a “Buy It Now” option for sellers. But then again, there’s a little twist in pure Bido fashion. Unlike as presented in other places, BIN will be an added option (it will cost one Bido Credit, returned upon a sale) and if not enough, there will be one other very important requirement before you may use a BIN on Bido. For more on this, please be a little patient as we put the finishing touches on the new upcoming release.

Best,

Sahar

You make no sense Sahar but I like BIN. This is not bad, It’s GOOD!!!

  3. 3 Ravi

Enough Bido with the bad news already :)

    —-answer—-

I’m trying to figure out the next “bad news” post, but it is hard to do so as the rest is just good news, which is not as interesting.

    Hopefully later today..

The average domainer only sells ~1-2% of their portfolio annually. While I have advocated a BIN option at BIDO, having to pay for the right to list domains will likely meet some resistance. IMO it would only work with exceptional domains at heavily discounted prices. But one could discount prices and list those same domains elsewhere at no charge.

    —-answer—-

This is what happens when there’s close to zero or no accountability to list a “Buy It Now” option.

    Best,

    Sahar

It’s bad. Better less names and better quality.

At some point some will realize we’re destined to grow, and with that, come growing pains.

    Best,

Can’t wait to hear the good news already; good luck with the new release!

    Thanks!

I don’t see the Bido chatroom anymore?

    —-answer—-

Yea we removed it for now, we may bring it back later. For now we suggest discussing with other sellers on the various message boards (namepros, dnforum, etc).

    Best,

    Sahar

We’ve been hard at work. Hopefully you will like what we have in store.

    Best,
