Our team is really not going to be happy with me telling you this as well. You see, they want to talk more about the good news, and I want to talk more about the bad news. So if you are sitting, some more bad news your way about the upcoming release: Initially Bido required ten votes to send a domain to auction, then we reduced to five votes, and now, we’re raising it to ten again (with a twist). The “Why” is part of the good news we have in store, and for that, please be a little patient as we put the finishing touches on this release and share with all.
Best,
Sahar

Oh, you tease!
No matter how you look at it, this is good news.
Better quality domains will result in more activity and interest. Having a high percentage of unsuccessful auctions makes the platform look bad and creates too much dead weight……focus on quality domains and be selective.
That’s not necessarily bad news!! As a HUGE Bido fan I have to say I’m confident you guys are making the right moves for your business.
You created something revolutionary and with that comes lessons along the way. Being up-front and honest with everyone about your changes puts you ahead of 99.9% of the companies out there so I thank you for that.
Keep-up the great work and I’m excited to see the new features!!
Tia.. me? never !
Jeffrey, the change is about quality. There’s more to it than the post here of course.
Morgan, thanks for the kind words ! Of course our interest is our users so we try our best. By no means we always get it right, and we hope we do this time around. Time will tell but one thing for sure, we will continue and adapt as much as needed until we find the right formula, and then.. adapt some more

I think this is for the best.
I recently listed some domains on Bido and they very quickly got 5 votes each. 3 domains ended up selling for minimum bid. I feel those domains could have gotten 10 votes. With 10 voters, the chances of one coming back to actually bid is doubled. I say, make it 15!
I tend to agree with the above posters. I had a decent sale on a .biz, but lost a few other nice domains for $28. My fault for going the no reserve route.
There are many things about Bido I do like. Paring down the daily selection to insure quality (via the bid system too) will help I think.
Ditto the “15″ votes suggestion.
Just an honest opinion, the model will not scale.

It’s very interesting you know our model won’t scale, as we don’t know what our model is yet

Will be more domains with acceleration. And they not always high quality. Or voices can be collected from the friends. Why you do not wish to change system of an appraisal of the domain for acceptance for auction. To create the standard appraisals of domains on the basis of knowledge of experts-it good idea. Thanks

We limit auction accelerations per day to 10%-15% of daily inventory in most instances in order to keep quality at a certain threshold. We do not believe in appraisals without accountability. The voting system is being reworked on to address these issues and once the new release is out. Stay tuned, and thanks for the feedback.
