I just joined BIDO and my first two names that sold were both in the 3 digits. As mentioned above GolferForum.com and also StockBrokers.tv which sold for $260.

This week I have Uzbekistan.tv on auction at Bido which should also break the 3 digits. In the past I was offered $1k for the name.

----answer----

Good to hear you are making some sales, and good luck with all your future sales. Any suggestions/feedback, do let us know!

Best,

Sahar

BIDO seems to be in a vicious cycle.

Until you guys implement some sort of quality vetting, you're going to struggle to attract 'the right kind' of bidders. Absent the 'right kind' of bidders , you're going to struggle to attract quality names. One begets the other, in turn, in turn, etc, etc.

If Bido is to avoid becoming the domainers equivalent of an Arkansas flea market (which it kind of is, right now), it must institute meaningful controls for quality. I believe a reasonable solution is to add a final layer of screening where people who 'get it' make the final decision.

Let the masses determine what's submitted to the 'experts', then let the 'experts' determine what's sent to auction...

Still, its all academic. Until Bido devises a method to get better portfolio holders to submit their quality names, it will have a very hard time breaking out of its present state and getting upmarket.

I am very convinced that you guys will be able to make it the
best auction platform in the future. The interface will do it,
although it could be a less flashing IMO.
What a great gesture to not have auctions on veterans day!!!

Thanks

Ron

Thanks Ron. We're hard at work as always, trying to make things better. The interface will improve there's no doubt about that (on many levels). Thanks so much for the support !

I like the four digit sales better ;) I noticed mowing.info selling here for 4 digits and entered Mowing.org to be auctioned on the 18th.

Hope shameless plugs are allowed...

also I will be blogging the whole experience and what I did to promote the auction on GeoOwners after I see the results.

----answer----

Hi Tim,

Yea, the four, the five, the six, the seven.. All are important, however, to do it right, we truly believe it is the foundation that is the most important. Even if you look at Mowing.Info sale, would it really get to four figure if it did not start at 28$? Would it end at four figure if the buyer (and other bidders) accidentally came to Bido without being familiar with the system first, without first experiencing it with other domains? All this is related to the solid foundation we are trying to build.

If that makes sense..
