Bido is here to provide the platform for you to conduct successful auction events, get the word out, build auction pressure, increase the odds of making a sale, and ultimately, help you get the most for your domain name, especially when time is of the essence.
It’s been a while since I updated this blog, we’ve been really hard at work on so many fronts. The economy took a huge turn for the worse on most and the world has definitely changed. I’ve been talking about liquidation options for years now (I won’t bore you with it now, if you want to read more just search my blog) and today, it is more important than ever.
We built a solid platform from the ground up, focusing intensely on the dynamics and technologies of only one domain per day, making sure we “get it right”, knowing that when we do, we can always expand. In addition, many have asked for it. They asked for multiple auctions, different time slots, adult domains, ease of escrow, and a number of other requests.
The last seven or so months we spent exclusively building many of those features, evolving the platform to its next phase. We put much work into it, we tried our best to address the needs of our community, however, we’re not perfect, and please do not expect perfection. There may be some issues, there may be some hiccups, and if you see something that isn’t right, if you feel something isn’t right, just let us know. Our philosophy is we’re here to serve. Without the community Bido cannot exist.
This surely isn’t the last step in our progress. Even long before the release is out, we’re hard at work on the next release, and many upcoming features to strengthen the platform, to give you more options, to allow for more sales, and to give you more tools to market your auction event.

Bido is a quite dynamic auction platform with lots of good domain sales despite the short running time of the auctions. I really think your approach to limit the number of domain auctions per day has been a great idea that sets Bido apart from its competitors. Although I understand the wish for more than one auction per day, I certainly hope you will still have a limit in place so there won’t be too many auctions like there are on the other platforms.

Dominik, our system is designed to limit listings and promote accurate pricing, even today (see our Reserve price format). No Reserve auction in the new release are up for vote by Bido experts, the community. We have a couple of other methods we will introduce soon to bring listings in that we believe will preserve the dynamics we’re seeking. It is extremely important to us not to become a quantity type site.
