Reading The Domain Game

bookpicture.JPGBy far The Domain Game by David Kesmodel is the most captive book I’ve ever read. Most of the stories are personal, some I knew of for years, some I didn’t, some we were intimately involved with behind the scenes, and many reminds me of our early days, what we went through (the 20 hour workdays, lists, comparison files), what others went through. While I’m only at about half way through I know for sure the book only covers a small portion of the domain world, the early days, the early players. In addition, as we were there since November 1999 I also know there are holes in the book, not everything is as black and white as some would want you to believe.

In any event, if you did not pick one up yet, don’t wait a second longer!

And to David Kesmodel, hat off for a great book, hope you are already working on a second edition!

Have a great day,

Sahar

I am trying to buy it via B&N as I want to pay through Paypal. But it needs some sort of membership no & coupon code to proceed.

    Seems confusing.

    Sahar,

I, too, would like for David Kesmodel to write a sequel to “The Domain Game”! He did an impressive job researching the industry and relating it in a story that has the potential to bring domaining into the consciousness — and actions — of a whole new generation.

Over time, it will be interesting to see the impact the book ultimately has both on the domain industry and the Internet.

For those who may be interested, my review of the book is posted at Amazon.com and my 4-part Fractional Domaining Blog interview with David Kesmodel can be read at http://fractionaldomaining.blogspot.com/2008/06/part-1-of-4-extra-insights-from-author.html

    Best regards,

    Neal

“Most captive you’ve ever read”? Seriously? It’s a decent book that sheds some light on the history of domains and some of the pioneer investors, but what in this book did you find super enlightening or eye opening?

Don’t get me wrong it IS worth reading, but I wouldn’t even rank it in the top 50 best books I’ve ever read.

I think for me it’s a personal thing as I’ve been there during these times, been part of some of those deals, and know most of the characters on a personal level. For others, like you said, it may not be as enlightening.

    Cheers
