ICANN's only fault in this case was not transferring their domain name away from register.com. THey have no security over there.

Perhaps they tried to transfer it out but couldn't wait on hold any longer for an auth code!

You know times are tough when you resort to trapping customers by making it impossible to get an auth code. Reminiscent of the old AOL's tactics that also did not work. They must not have taught this lesson over at Columbia school of business.

Photobucket the week before is also managed by Register.com

This is what happens when you have a domain name company that does not have 1 employee remaining that knows technology or even what the DNS is.

The new CEO filled up on MBA business types to revitilize their business and they are paying a hefty price now. Too bad even many of them have jumped ship in under a year of employement.

Larry K and Vector Capital will not be able to unload this dog of a company for anything over $50-$60 a customer (e.g. 50-60 mil as they have about 1 million customers according to what they have claimed).

I feel sorry that 300-400 people in Nova Scotia's jobs are being toyed with like they are nothing by Larry in NYC who is beyond unqualified to run a registrar.

What a lousy security! Even the organization body that preach us about domain name business don't know how to protect their own domain name.

What security do we have as consumer/businesses?

I'm very dissappointed!
