Sahar Sarid at the Sausalito harbor, April 2008
While at Domain Roundtable in San Fransisco last April Alyette and I went sailing in Sausalito. To say the most beautiful of cities I’ve seen in a long time is a complete understatement. And the real estate? where to start? Prices are somewhere between “high in the sky” to “heaven!”.

So today, while checking my email, I saw Rick Latona’s newsletter in my mailbox advertising Sausalito.com for US $150,000.00. In my humble opinion, and while many know I’m not a fan of Geo domains when it comes to passive investments, in terms of development, this one is a rare gem!
On the note of Rick Latona, I saw another gem earlier this week, not sure if it was yet picked up or not. This one was RodeoDrive.com for US $100,000.00. Need I say more?

Why dont you grab them?

Have to stay focus on what our business is. We’re not in the geo development space these days. Maybe some day, but not today.
Cheers

Makes sense.
I agree with Sahar, the only obstacle for me to buy these names is out of budget or not withing my budget I guess.
Nice photos there.
Sahar so which yacht in the Sausalito harbor photo is yours?
Great Info - Thanks

We noticed Rick owned this domain about a month ago and were hoping that he would not sell so quickly. I figured he would be asking in the 100-150 range. Four months from now, I would consider buying this…cash flow must be right for us and right now it must go to development of our new geodomain. If anyone does buy this domain, please know you have a bid to fall back on with me. Although I can’t gaurantee a timeframe or the 150k price, I am interested.
Oh my gosh, Rick is surely selling GEO domains like hotcakes!!!
Hi Sahar,
I’m impressed. Bido.com looks like a great idea and a lot of fun. You are ahead of us by about a month. We’ve been in heads down development mode for over a year now. We are finally launching our domain business in mid July. It is called Islandview Domains (not as “catchy” as bido).
We use our massive libraries of original graphic arts content to distinguish our domain properties in a crowded market. We own roughly 10,000 domains spread out in 74 Master Portfolios. We are also actively developing some of the properties ourselves.
Most of our doamins are housed at GoDaddy.com right now, although we have just recently begun discussions with several other domain industry companies in Washington D.C. (near us), Boston, Florida, California, Seattle, and Australia.
I,too, love Sausalito. A business asociate of mine had his office right on the water there. What a beautiful place to work!
We have the largest portfolio of and candidate and issue-specific political domains we are aware of anywhere. Your auction format could work well for unique properties like these.
Let me know if you’d like to take a look. No sense in our waiting yet another month to launch all of these domain properties.

Hi George,
We have a submission form on Bido.com with set criteria of what we’re currently interested in.
Good luck with your properties!

Rick,
Has some amazing domains and he keeps hitting them out at fair prices and also he is offering 70% Finance on the names you can knock that either, you dont even have to pay all the cash to get access to the domain.
Rick is doing a great job just a shame he has lots of geo domains as im not really into that market.
Good post Sahar, looking forward to BIDO this week!
