As with any major release you can imagine, as of today, we’re not yet ready to go live, however, we’re COMMITTED to go live by June 18th. Will we make it? I guess we are all going to find out soon enough!
There are few things you may want to know about the list of domains and our philosophies/ideas as for creating Bido:
1. We received tens of thousands of domain submissions however, all we saw was either domains that do not fit our stated criteria, or domains that were priced too high for us to guarantee. In light of that experience we decided to list all current domains (list below) ourselves, what we call a “House Listing” (see bottom of page for more information).
2. All domains were chosen extremely carefully, not just for quality, but to test the waters, learn what works, what doesn’t. While they are likely not six figures domains some we believe are low five figures and most (if not all) are four figures domains. The true value? That is to be determined soon!
3. Our goal is to create a liquid market. What is a domain worth TODAY? Not tomorrow, not next week, not next year, but today. One way to find out is to give the domain as much exposure as possible, start extremely low, have no reserve, and watch the action. Yes, we’re fully aware we may lose some GREAT inventory during the process and that’s OK. We’re committed to creating a liquid market in the illiquid world of domain names.
4. Our other goal is to educate the marketplace, both insiders and outsiders. We do that by having expert commentary with each domain auction. In addition we plan to invite heavy hitters from various industries to participate. Bringing mainstream to comment will bring mainstream eyeballs to the world of domains (or so we believe).
Lastly, below is a a copy of DNZoom By Bido Newsletter I just got in my mailbox. While not the best quality (due to resizing by me) you may want to read a little more, see what we have in store for you. As always, questions, comments are most welcome!

Keep it going, Sahar.
My unsolicited advice. Some of this ideas you may already be doing.
Stay responsive to those who’s opinions you value.
I think you should put precise dates beside each name on your front page.
Perhaps have a 14-30 day committed list.
This has potential to build interest/momentum.
Allow those who have not signed up to watch the action anyway.
Allow those who have not signed up to be sent a daily email about what happened in yesterdays auction and what’s coming up today/tomorrow. This will likely cause more people to sign up over time.
Keep on truckin’.

Thanks Josh. Yes, majority of these ideas are already implemented. Will look into more ideas as we put the site up and most definitely we will listen to feedback - once site is live, it is not the end, but the beginning.
Cheers.

So the “House” sets the sellers reserve, yet can also bid on a domain? Experts can review a name, yet also place a bid? No offense Sahar, but Bido is starting to look less like an auction, and more like a shark pool.
—-answer—-
The house does not set a reserve, it sets a guaranteed price we are comfortable covering. All auctions do not have reserve price. As far as Bido bidding, there are strict guidelines what Bido can and cannot do and those are disclosed in advance, have been disclosed long ago. For example, to avoid conflict of interest Bido discloses the guaranteed amount before auction starts and may place one bid during auction for the disclosed guaranteed amount. If someone outbid Bido then Bido cannot compete.
What we’re trying to achieve isn’t easy and has major financial risks on our side. We’re doing our best to create the sort of liquid market we believe the industry lacks.
Cheers
