I just saw that Michael Berkens beat me to our own release. How did that happen?!
In any event, here’s some info from the site:
”
On June 18, 1:00 PM, Bido.com is going to drop the bomb on the domain auction scene. With one daily domain auction, guaranteed minimum sale price, a low 8% commission rate, and analysis from industry experts, Bido.com is truly taking a fresh approach to the exciting — but until now unglamorous — world of domain name auctions.

The names look good! I think you have a winner here. Hope you guys have a successful launch on the 18th.

Thanks Steven, we sure hope so too

Looking forward to the 18th! The site looks simple to use and has a personalized appeal. Much success to you and your team.
—-answer—-
Thanks Michael. The current page on Bido is a temporary splash page until the site goes live sometime next week. We did some testing today with few individuals outside of the Bido network and the feedback was extremely positive (in terms of usability, design).
Cheers

Looking forward to the grand opening!
Sahar,
Wishing you and your team much success with Bido. I am sure it is going to be an industry-leader in no time.
—-answer—-
Thanks Elliot, much appreciated!

The list looks unexciting to me, I think some risk needs to be taken in terms of listing much better quality names.
—-answer—-
We felt the list is a strong list to start with. As things evolve we expect to be able to feel more comfortable with higher quality domains.

Sahar
So how do we bid on the domains? I registered at Bido and its asking me to register for DNZoom too?
Congrats, Sahar. Good concept.
Good to see you breaking new ground.
Once it’s been going for a little while, you can always tweak/adjust as you go.
—-answer—-
Thanks Josh. Yes, that’s the idea. Things will evolve based on experience and response once it’s running.
Cheers
Sahar
Man, that’s one way to get people to visit your site every day!
Not that I need an answer, but do you need an auctioneers license to auction of someone else’s property?
Each state has it’s own laws but I know you can’t auction off property without a license. Not sure it applies to domains but you might want to make sure you are covered on that angle.
Good luck.
—-answer—-
Hi Rob,
As far as I know you do need a license, which we have.

Sahar
Matt,
When you sign up for an account at dnZoom or Bido you get an account at both. We have not opened up the Bido auction site yet so you are being pushed over to dnZoom currently. Next week, you will log into Bido and be able to bid on domains.
Dan
Sahar,
Your team did a neat job with DNzoom, Im hoping they’ll deliver again. Best of Luck!
—-answer—-
Thanks Shuhaib,
The new team is much larger than the original DNZoom team. What we’ve been working on will be released in phases over the next several months, starting with the first release of the Bido/DNZoom platform early next week.
Thanks for your support!
Cheers
Sahar
Good to see the site will be going live soon. I know from the stuff we are working on, that getting it right before launching takes a lot of time and effort …often longed than we all think. I wish you and your team great success with this new entry into the auction space.
Shaun
—-answer—-
“A lot” is an understatement
Thanks Shaun,
Sahar
Sounds promising. As Bido develops, you might consider a daily auction for each of several TLDs. Obviously .coms are everywhere, but I think TLD-focused auctions (e.g., MyID.ca for Canada) have a lot of potential.
—-answer—-
Thanks Liam. Just like others we don’t know exactly how it will evolve. We’re taking it one step at a time. What we do know, from building other products, that things will evolve over time.
Cheers
Sahar
Those are all good names plenty of potential if developed. Well, except I don’t get RYY.com. There’s probably something I’m missing there.
I’d ask my kids but they’d just roll their eyes then say, “Oh, Dad. You know what that means”. And I still wouldn’t know.
—-answer—-
Hi Jeff,
RYY.Com is a three letter domain. Market value for such domains usually go for approx 8k+. They trade mostly because they are short however value goes up with meaning and better letters.
Cheers
Sahar
Great News - you have nice domain names listed there at $1 starting bid at bido.com
Good Luck Sahar
