During the day I go through a lot of blog and forum posts. I use my own RSS subscriptions (through Bloglines) as well as Domaining.com, the “News” and “Domain Industry” sections on DomainState, Rick’s board, as well as “Domain Name Discussion” section on NamePros.
By far my most favorite read these days is NamePros. While NamePros is mostly beginners and semi-professionals domainers what I like most about the place is the thirst for knowledge, the interesting threads, discussions. If I have to put it in one word I would say NamePros, unlike many of the other boards out there, is “Alive!”.
Here are some of the better threads I came across on NamePros:
How to Find Potential End Users?
what not to do if you sign up/start to be involved in domaining
Your Thoughts on Mass Lowballing?
Thinking of it all, it begs the question: Should Domaining.com add top forum threads to its industry coverage?
Happy Domaining

Agreed!
I enjoy this NamePros thread…

Since the begining it’s in my TODO list to also add some content from forums in Domaining.com
Now I have to admit I still don’t know which content and how to do it.
Today the only solution I see is a manual solution.
A pool of forum readers that will post everyday the headlines of threads they estimate having the most interest for domainers.
Now find these readers it’s another story!
Thanks Sahar.

Youy can write some rules in a script. Rules should state something on the lines of “if a thread gets X number of views and Y number of replies on a certain forum it is of enough interest to be listed”. You can also add a neat feature that you manually score certain prominent users in advance and if those participate then thread gets higher score
Another thought, cross marketing. Get a deal with the top forums to monitor the best threads for you and put them in a special area for their members, and for you. In return of course they get traffic/exposure on Domaining.com, and you get the job done

Hey Sahar,
I’ve been a long time fan, reader and general lurker around your blog. Great to see you like NamePros like the rest of us.
Yes it is a great place for noobs to learn and middle level traders to trade but there are some very intelligent people there too.
The discussions are really interesting and some of the deals one can get by trawling the for sales threads are unbelievable at times.
Ironically, just a while back someone was questioning whether big domainers even bother with NamePros, this should just proves otherwise.
Regards
I too agree, namepros is the only LIVE forum on domaining. People over there are quite active and moderators are also quite helping. Its marketplace and appraisal sections are my favourite
Yes, agreed. Namepros has the more community feel to it. I have found more help there than most places. Their chat room is nice too, and usually has active people there.
NamePros is the best forum I have ever used. The community is amazing, forums always active and so are the Live Chat (even if it just me (lonelydesigns) talking to myself!)
…relatedly to Domaining.com; Francois, are you now really requiring readers to register in order to visit the sites/articles you’ve already linked to?
If so, why?
If it’s revenue you’re after–perfectly understandable and well deserved for your efforts–would rather see you post ads instead.
It’s nice to hear that a high roller listens to the little guys. Kudos to you for staying grounded despite your amazing success.

We’re all little guys really. Whoever thinks he isn’t is likely even smaller
