I wonder why the company's accounting policy regarding amortization of domain names differs from the treatment used by Marchex and Name Media (both amortize acq costs renewal fees).

From Communicate.com's (Live Media) 10-K:

The Company's intangible assets, which consist of its portfolio of generic domain names, have been determined to have an indefinite life and as a result are not amortized.

Sounds like great PR for the domain industry. I believe this means big potential for many domainers down the road. It relates to some of your other recent posts about Partnerships and seeking positive relationships with other domainers. It will be interesting to see how much mainstream media reports on this. Hopefully headline stuff in CNNMoney.
