Earlier today Darren Cleveland, Recall Media Group President/CEO, mentioned to me a TrafficZ email which was CC to all, rather then BCC. The result? Everyone on the list saw the email addresses which the email was sent to. Now I personally didn’t see that email however, an email to Darren minutes ago read the following:
Dear TrafficZ User,
Sorry to inconvenience anyone but your email, like mine, was just released by TrafficZ. I apologize having to use this method but its awfully ironic that I just got handed a list of people who buy and sell domain names just as I determined I really need to sell two of my domain names in the very near future
The email continues listing a couple of domains for sale, stats links, and the following:
If you are the least bit interested please let me know. I need to make some money ASAP to keep paying off my damn Adjustable Rate mortgage.
Sorry for any inconvenience,
Jesse Lakes
With all due respect and understanding of financial situations, this is one of the more offensive approaches I have seen from a seller in the domain industry.
Now about TrafficZ, it is a good company. It runs by a couple of good friends of mine, Kevin Vo and Ammar Kubba. Lately, possibly because of their spectacular growth, they have been under attack by some scammers, spammers. I hope the problems soon will be over with and things get back to normal, where focus on business growth takes over dealing with such issues.

Ouch. Reminds me of those “wanna get away” commercials for Southwest Airlines. I think we all have a story of accidentally sending an email to the wrong person or forgetting to bcc someone…but 1500 is an awful lot. I’m sure the person inside TrafficZ who made the mistake will never do it again.
Cmon list the domains I want to buy them.
Ammar and Kevin are top-notch pros and I’m sure the person who did this will be taking a “vacation” tomorrow.
