Guest Post: Ron Jackson On Bido.com

ron jackson dnjournal bido.comPeople in the domain business will be seeing and hearing a lot about a new company called Bido.com in the weeks and months ahead. I consider myself fortunate to be one of four partners in the new venture along with Sahar Sarid, Darren Cleveland and Jeff Bhavnanie, three men who are already well-known and highly respected in the domain industry as principals in Recall Media Group.

DN JournalDNJournal.com keeps me so busy that I have had no interest in new business ventures, even though some attractive opportunities have come my way over the past couple of years. Sahar changed my mind when he called a few weeks ago to see if I would be interested in joining him, Darren and Jeff in rolling out a multi-faceted domain company that will debut in the first quarter of 2008.

bido.comIn the past I have just said no to putting another iron in the fire, especially since other companies are already doing a great job in every corner of the industry. However, Sahar’s vision for Bido.com included so many fresh ideas and exciting new avenues to explore that I felt it would be foolish for me to say no this time. If all goes well, Bido’s ambitious business plan will be rolled out in stages over the next couple of years and no matter what happens I know this project with these talented partners will keep life interesting.

feather penIt will also give me an opportunity to write a new series of articles that will give people an unprecedented inside look at the building of a domain conglomerate from scratch. I am keeping a notebook so I will be able to give DN Journal readers all of the details on the steps (and mis-steps) we take along the way as we strive to produce a number of new and improved services for domain owners. I think it will be a unique and fascinating series of chapters in a Bido.com book that everyone, including me, will learn from. The opportunity to do those stories was a key reason I decided to get involved in the project.

join the rideOf course, for me people are always paramount and it was the other people involved that cinched my decision. Sahar, Darren and Jeff already have a well-documented record of success but more importantly they are good-hearted men that I’ve come to know and trust over the past several years. I’m looking forward to the adventure ahead and taking all of you along with us on the ride!

Best Wishes,

Ron
