Spyware.com Is Coming On The Auction Block

We’re putting Spyware.com (venue undecided). The domain made millions so far, selling because of a unique opportunity we have on our table outside the domain space. Low reserve of USD 950K, expected price sale 3M-5M.
More info on it later.

    Dang…

What a beautiful .com domain for a HUGE industry.

    Best,
    Dan

Great name. Hope you get End User prices, Sahar.

why in the hell would you be selling such a beautiful name. Considereing the sale of business.com for over 300 million it seems unfair to you and your company to let this gem go. :(

Nicholas Business.com was a hugely popular website/ directory, spyware is selling for just the domain. I guess Sahar feels that a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. Right Sahar???

I like this name a lot. I hope you are going to sell it for
a million or more. I think the most value here is actually
in the traffic and less in the name itself.

    security threat/bad thing
    ————————-

    virus
    spyware

    Solution/good thing
    ——————–
    antivirus
    antispyware

It is no secret that there are many companies providing solutions
and that’s why both antivirus.com and belongs to Trend Micro and
antispyware.com is developed. Not too much left for Virus.com, it is
a generic dictionary word, but with very limited opportunities for
development. Spyware on the other hand has more potential. Spyware
is a singular and plural at the same time. So, it doesn’t have to
compete with the plural form. For instance if you develop Virus.com
it is better to have Viruses.com too. You don’t have to worry about
    owing spywares.com.

Spyware.com can be developed into the portal about spyware threats,
and at the same time software solutions can be compared on the site
    and sold.

My prediction: $200k for the domain name yearly revenue x 5

    Seriously call me.

Sahar, did you try selling the name to any of the logical end users? This one would seem to fit quite well with some publicly-traded companies.

i think 3 million is a gross understatement.
Microsoft should plunker down 10 mill for this name and just shutdown the competition.

I would totally buy it for $3M if I had it in liquid capital, which I don’t at the moment. Any way of you guys holding it off until March 2008? I would SERIOUSLY bid on it when I have lots more cash to play with, all liquid too. What do ya say? Wanna wait for a potential player?? Let me know.

This is a domain name begging to be developed…IMO, with some moderate SEO efforts you can rake in atleast 5 Mill/year if not more!
