Larry Fischer for DirectNavigation.com writes:

Dot Mobi officials issued a retraction of its earlier press release announcing Sedo’s record sales.

“We are advised by dotMobi that journalists and other readers should disregard the news release, Third .mobi ‘Premium Domain Name’ Online Auction Shatters Existing Price Records, issued December 10th over PR Newswire, as the release was issued prematurely.”?

As Larry points out, sounds like it is either because of a possible lawsuit or because the main buyer did not come through. More on this as story develops.

    Where is my popcorn? :)
On a serious note, this is a serious issue that may end in many ways.

I think that at the end, Sedo will be the one who will loose most out of this (because I suppose the press release was retracted after some bidders who got email notifications that they won domains will go to court).

Anyway lots of speculation till we do not know more, as much speculation as this tld is.
