Conceptualist.com Design Contest, Flash Compilation

About 15 years ago I was a second assistant to a very successful photographer in Israel (Menachem Oz). What does a second assistant do? “Sahar, COFFEE!”, or on better days.. “See the equipment there, see the car? five minutes and we’re out”. Fun times (no, I don’t miss them!). Joking aside, one day Menachem and I had a serious chat, and he told me I’m very talented and if I continue on this path one day I will be as successful as he is. Me being me, I asked what does that mean? And Menachem said big studio, lots of jobs, good money. Again I followed.. “what does ‘good money’ means?” And Menachem said something in the range of low five figures USD a month. I put one and one together thinking to myself, 25+ years in the business, one of the top five photographers in Israel at the time, work non stop, no residual income, and low five figures USD income. In three words.. NOT FOR ME. The next day I stopped by the photo store I knew too well and sold all my photography equipment. I decided if I ever get back to it I will do it as a hobby.
The other issue that was bothering me about the business was digital artwork was taking off and photography wasn’t as essential as it once was. Fast forward 15 years……….. As many of you know I spent the last few days working days and nights managing the conceptualist.com logo contest at SitePoint. I’m back to my artistic side, questioning art, ideas, concepts, philosophies. It is allot of fun and there’s so much talent out there. In the last few days I made some great new friends, explored a relatively new business model, design contests, and learned (still am) from the experience tremendously. Since there are so many great artworks in this contest I asked one of our associates to create a short FLASH compilation of some of the top contenders. Note we did not include all top contenders (I had no say which logos made it here) and there are still about four days to go.
If you have some designer friends, feel free to refer them to the contest (referral prize money: 1,250$, see contest page for details)
Feedback most appreciated!

It’s great that you’re able to combine your passions and get paid well at the same time. My personal passion is writing. I have an outline for a novel, an unpublished book of poetry, and several other book ideas. I had to give it up to focus on making a living, and eventually discovered domaining. I hope that I too can one day reach that point where I can combine what I do now with my love of writing.

By the way, there are some outstanding logos there in the video. I am impressed. They flashed by too quickly for me to pinpoint my favorites, though.
