Flowchart.com Goes Private Beta

Took us a year and a half to build this platform and finally we’re releasing it. It’s not perfect but it is usable and in order to make it a good product we really do need your help.
Please note, this is an early beta release and do not (yet) expect the world here. Within few months we expect to have a top of the line product as user’s feedback will give us more insight into what needs to be done then any programming team can ever do on its own.

What is Flowchart.com?

It is a web based, real time collaboration Flowchart platform where you do not need any special plug ins to use it. As for collaboration, you can collaborate with associates in real time where changes that are made to the flowchart are shown on your associate’s side without the need to save or update the page.

Why did we build Flowchart.com?

In 2005 we filed a number of technology patents. While preparing them we had to bounce flowcharts with our attorneys back and forth until we got the right version. We thought, it would be much simpler to just have everyone working on it in real time however, we were all located in different parts of the world. Long story short we thought it would be ideal to have all parties log in to a platform and work on it together, reducing many hours of work to a single hour or two, where changes are made, and viewed by all, in real time.
In addition to that, after exploring the concept, Jeff added a cool idea to create a micro economy within the platform where users can upload, promote, and sell cliparts.
From a consumer POV today consumers who need a flowchart done need to buy a complete flowchart software. For a decent software they need to spend few hundred dollars even if they just need to work on one single flowchart. With our platform we plan to offer fee-based usage, pay per flowchart model, and possibly few other revenue models.

Why did we choose the domain Flowchart.com?

You can’t be serious expecting me to answer this one!

If you’re interested, log on to www.flowchart.com and ask for an invitation.

If you do get to use the software please invite few friends you think may like it as well. We can use all help possible to test the software. Thanks in advance!

Comments/suggestions are highly appreciated!

Cheers

    Sahar -

Any word on flowchart.com? How is it going? It looks really great and I think that a lot of businesses would use a product like that.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,
Finalizing Version 2, we basically have redone the architecture completely from scratch for that. Once we release it will be a major update, should be relatively soon, couple of weeks.
    Cheers
